Premium refund

We want to let you know we made a mistake and we’re sorry. 

We discovered that, at times, we were not clear in our communication about how we applied discounts that customers were eligible for when they bought a policy, or policies, with us.


 

How we’re putting this right

Ensuring we do the right thing by our customers is our number one priority. That’s why we want to ensure that you receive a refund for any overpaid premium, plus interest, as quickly as possible.  

We’ve identified all the customers to whom we owe a refund, and since August 2023 have been contacting those impacted via a series of calls, emails and letters, (depending on the contact details we held), confirming the refund owed.

What do you need to do?

Simply email customer@scti.co.nz or call our team on 0800 243 681 Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm, excluding public holidays, so we can validate your details and collect your NZ bank account number to process your refund

For privacy reasons, we will ask you to confirm some details, such as providing the reference number provided in the email (if you received one), your email address (must be the one we sent the email to), the name you provided as the main policy holder and confirm your date of birth.   

We'll then refund the amount due to your chosen account within 3 working days.
